Nearly 800 Students Gain Coveted Yale Early Action Spots Amid Fierce Admissions Odds

Yale University has released its early action admissions results for the Class of 2029, showing a 10.8% acceptance rate as 728 students received offers from a pool of 6,754 applicants. This marks a slight increase in the acceptance rate compared to recent years, with admissions up 2.6% from the previous cycle despite applications dropping by 14% year-over-year. Additionally, 17% of early applicants were deferred to the regular decision pool, giving them another chance at admission in the spring.

Regular Decision proved even more selective, with only 1,580 students admitted from 43,474 applications, a mere 3.63% acceptance rate. 

Most admitted students demonstrated academic excellence, with 96% ranking in the top 10% of their high school graduating class. Applying early action to Yale could potentially provide a competitive edge as it demonstrates strong interest and commitment to the institution.

Yale Regular Decision Admissions

Like the early round, regular decision applications also decreased by 12% compared to last year.
